Children Development Center Director

We are committed to providing the best care possible for the families in our community by coming alongside parents/guardians, who we believe should be the primary influence in their child(ren)'s lives and development. The Director is a key leadership role within the Child Development Center responsible for managing all activity in the child development center as well as setting appropriate program and staff expectations. This role requires a spiritually mature, enthusiastic leader who is both a big picture thinker as well as someone who will ensure the details are done to a high standard.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the Child Development Center, ensuring its effective operation and adherence to the organization’s mission and values. 

  • Commit to being on site for daily operations of the center at least 50% of weekly operating hours 

  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise staff members, including teachers, assistants, and support personnel and conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback

  • Oversee the development and implementation of a developmentally appropriate and engaging curriculum that aligns with the center's educational philosophy and Christian values, ensuring that it addresses physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects of child development.

  • Establish and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure and nurturing environment for children. 

  • Maintain compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements

  • Foster positive relationships with parents and families and maintain open lines of communication to address concerns

  • Collaborate with the church community and actively engage with local community organizations to promote the center's services, build partnerships, and raise awareness of its mission

  • Develop and manage the center's budget and oversee tuition collections (ensure tuition is paid when due)

  • Stay updated on current trends and best practices in early childhood education and Christian education and encourage, facilitate, and document professional development opportunities for staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge.

  • Foster a Christian environment within the center and nurture the spiritual development of children 

  • Regularly assess the effectiveness of the center's programs and services through evaluations, observations, and feedback from church leaders, staff, parents, and children.

    Requirements:

    • At least eighteen years old

    • ECE state certificate or equivalent as approved and verified in MERIT within five years of the time of hire

    • Two years of experience as a teacher of children in any age group enrolled in the early learning program 

    • At least six months of experience in administration or management OR a department approved plan

    • Complete the applicable requirements outlined in the Employee Handbook’s Training section

    • Professional development progress documented annually as outlined in the Employee Handbook’s In-service Training section

    • Demonstrated adherence to Sun City Christian doctrines.
