Children Development Center Teacher

‍Lead teachers are responsible for implementing the child development center program. Lead teachers develop and provide a nurturing and responsive learning environment that meets the needs of enrolled children.

Responsibilities:

  • Create classroom curriculum and schedule and submit to appropriate management staff for approval

  • Gather observations and data to assess children’s development

  • Supervise children at all times, ensuring that each child is receiving adequate care and progressing developmentally, academically, socially, emotionally, spiritually, etc.

  • Supervise classroom assistants and volunteers as necessary

  • Discover children’s God-given gifts, talents and interests and nurture them

  • Assist and support parents and staff in nurturing children’s gifts, talents and interests

  • Communicate consistently with parent/guardians

  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff

  • Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment

  • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • Be at least eighteen years old
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • ECE initial certificate or equivalent as approved and verified in the electronic workforce registry by the • department within five years of the date this section becomes effective, or five years from being employed or promoted into this position at any licensed early learning program
    • ECE short certificate within two years of receiving an ECE initial certificate, or seven years from being employed or promoted into this position at any licensed early learning program
    • A current DCYF background check
